Qualifications

There are alternatives to a mainstream route to becoming a teacher and  impacting student achievement in Phoenix’s high-need classrooms. Although education coursework is usual, consider an alternative entry plan if:

You possess a bachelor’s degree.

You either hold a bachelor’s degree or are currently completing your bachelor’s degree coursework from an accredited university.

Your undergraduate GPA is 2.75 or higher.

Strongest academics are need for alternative entry routes.

You are eligible to work in the United States.

You must present proof of legal work status in order to become an employee of a public school district in Arizona.

You meet testing requirements for your subject area.

Candidates must meet coursework and testing requirements according to state, district, and certification program guidelines for the subject they wish to teach before they begin teaching.
